Application Process FAQs

I see a home or apartment that I have interest in viewing. How can I go about viewing this property?

In most instances Central Cal Management allows for applicants to check out keys from our downtown Bakersfield Office between the hours of 8:30-4:00, Monday through Friday and 9:00-12:00 on Saturdays.

To see if keys can be checked out for the home or apartment you might have interest in, please review the advertisement on our website or contact our office.

I am interested in applying for a home or apartment that you have for rent. How can I do that?

To apply for a home or apartment that we have for rent, please locate the home or apartment you are interested in applying for and click on the “Apply Now” button. A link to our available listings can be found here.

What are your rental requirements and documentation needed to qualify?

The requirements and documentation needed to qualify can be found here.

After I apply, how long does it take to process my application?

The process typically takes on average 1-3 business days depending on how quickly we are able to verify the applicant’s employment and rental history.

It is important to note that our company processes applications in the order in which they are received.

Applicants must have viewed the home or apartment prior to us processing the application. The application must be a fully completed application with all occupants residing in the home that are 18 years of age or older having submitted an application. In addition, all required documentation must be provided for it to be considered an application. To help speed up the processing of the application, it is important that the proper contact info is given for any previous landlords and current employers.

Upon approval, what are the next steps?

Once your application has been approved, an associate from Central Cal Management will contact you to discuss a move in date along with the amount needed for the security deposit and prorated rent.

Our policy does require that approved applicants provide a security deposit within three business days of approval and are required to begin paying rent within 14 days of approval.

I have been asked to provide the security deposit within three business days. What forms of payment do you accept?

Security deposits must be collected using certified funds. Central Cal Management accepts a cashier’s check or money order made payable to Central Cal Management. Personal checks or credit/debit are not accepted for the security deposit. CASH IS NEVER ACCEPTED

What can I expect on the day of move in?

Upon approval and the scheduling of a move in date, a representative from Central Cal Management will meet you at the home or apartment at which point they will conduct a move in inspection with you and provide the keys to the home or apartment. The representative will notate any issues such as stains on the carpet, chips in countertops, etc. Any items requiring repairs will be brought to the owners attention and those that need to be merely referenced will be notated on the move in statement. At this point the representative will also collect the prorated rent.

How long is my lease term for?

Typically, within the advertisement the lease period is listed. In most instances the lease term is for 12 months. Please review the advertisement for further information. If you are uncertain, please contact our office and a representative can assist you.

Do you allow pets?

In most instances pets are not allowed unless the animal is certified as an ESA or Service Animal with the proper documentation (which will be verified by a third-party service provider).

The rental advertisement will indicate whether pets are allowed. In instances where they are allowed, the owner may require a higher security deposit, additional rent and even have the tenant pay for renter’s insurance. Breed restrictions for dogs may also apply. Please contact our office for further information regarding any pets. ESA or Support Animals (with the proper documentation and verification by a third-party provider) will not impose any additional fees or security deposit.
